The Galerie Les Arts du Soleil in Geneva is pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition
“Time and Space”
by Nigerian artist Kent Onah.
This exhibition explores the continuity between the past, the present, and the future, while shedding light on the deep connections between artistic creation, culture, time, and space, a reflection the artist has been developing since 2023.
Kent Onah invites us to reconsider our relationship with time: often absorbed by nostalgia for the past or projections into the future, we forget to fully live in the present.
By revisiting the practices of our ancestors, who painted with their hands and used natural pigments on cave walls, the artist reminds us of the universal creative force of humanity, an energy that transcends geographical and cultural boundaries.
According to him, time and space intertwine, carrying collective memory through the ages. In our modern era, marked by technological sophistication and advanced artistic tools, he challenges us to ask: are we truly more creative, and will our works endure through time with the same resonance?
“Time and Space” thus stands as a meditation on the evolution of human creativity, from yesterday to today, and as a call to action: to improve what lies within our reach and, each in our own way, contribute to a better world.
