Kemboury Bessane is a Senegalese artist who does what she likes above all: painting. She has been drawing and painting since childhood, braving the prejudice related to an artist's job.
Her passion naturally led her to receive a training in plastic arts at the national school of fine arts of Dakar. She is a committed artist who is in search of beauty and happiness. To face the various evils afflicting society : war, poverty, unjustice, illegal immigration etc., the artist takes her brush to "recreate the world". Avoiding to draw a totally dark picture of the situation, she also highlights the beauty of her culture and her traditions in her creations. Kemboury Bessane integrates recovery objects, electronic and computer components in her acrylic works on canvas or on paper. Her approach is to head resolutely for the future by leaning on the past. She has taken part in a lot of individual and collective exhibitions, the last of which abroad, took place at the Museum Casa de Africa in Cuba.
